The master bedroom was originally clad in hemlock panels. Unfortunately, over the years it had been painted over so many times that it looked like a sun porch.

So in order to replace it and to increase the insulation on the top floor of the house we removed and recycled all of the panels. Once the walls were removed, it was interesting to see the framing that was used in the Trend House. Not only were the posts close together, but there are a number of horizontal cross members at regular intervals. I’m assuming that this was a bit out of the norm, but at least we don’t have to worry about the house blowing down :¬D)

After a few years we decided to updated the color in the room to match some new pieces of original mid-century modern danish teak bedroom pieces that we discovered at an estate sale.
